At Caring for Cats, we believe that stability matters. For some cats, the most compassionate outcome is not a traditional adoption, but long-term, consistent care supported by a community that refuses to give up on them.
Together Furever reflects that commitment.
Together Furever began as a community-centered effort to keep cats safely with their caregivers during times of hardship. Over time, that same philosophy expanded to include long-term and permanent foster care for cats whose needs require stability above all else.
Today, Together Furever represents our commitment to ensuring that every cat receives the right care for their individual journey.
Why Together Furever Matters
Not every cat’s story fits neatly into an adoption announcement.
Some cats:
- Have ongoing medical conditions that make it difficult for them to find homes and may require consistent monitoring
- Are seniors who need comfort and familiarity
- Struggle with transitions and benefit from stability
- Thrive in carefully structured long-term care
For these cats, multiple moves can be stressful and even harmful. Together Furever ensures they are not overlooked simply because their needs are more complex and that if they are already in loving homes that they can stay there, even if their owners can not afford their medical care.
Instead of rushing outcomes, we prioritize well-being.
How the Program Works
Cats eligible for Together Furever support are identified through our internal care and adoption process. Entry into the program is determined at the discretion of Caring for Cats based on each cat’s unique medical, behavioral, and emotional needs.
We do not accept applications or outside requests for enrollment. This allows us to make thoughtful, case-by-case decisions guided by what is truly best for the cats and our ability to provide support.
Cats in Together Furever may receive long-term foster placement or ongoing structured support (food, litter, medications, veterinary care) through the shelter. In every case, our focus remains the same: safety, stability, and quality of life.
The Impact of Your Support
Together Furever is entirely donor-supported.
Long-term care often includes:
- Routine and specialized veterinary visits
- Prescription diets and medications
- Enrichment and environmental support
- Dedicated volunteer and foster caregiver time
Because Caring for Cats is volunteer-driven, your donation goes directly toward sustaining this level of care.
When you give, you help us:
- Prevent unnecessary transitions
- Provide lifelong support when adoption is not the best fit
- Honor our commitment to every cat who comes through our doors
You allow us to say yes to stability. Yes to dignity. Yes to love that lasts.
A Promise That Extends Beyond Adoption
Together Furever is not a temporary program. It is an expression of who we are.
Some cats find forever homes through adoption. Others find forever safety through long-term care. Both outcomes are victories.
Your generosity ensures that no cat is left behind simply because their path looks different.
Thank you for helping us keep that promise.
We can’t do this work without your support.
