January 2026 Adoptions: So Many New Beginnings

Feb 6, 2026 | News & Updates, Success Stories

Celebrating the cats who found their forever homes to start 2026

January brought an incredible start to 2026 at Caring for Cats, filled with happy endings and exciting new beginnings. Thanks to thoughtful adopters, dedicated volunteers, and a community that believes every cat deserves the right match, so many of our residents found loving homes.

Our first adoption of 2026 was the epitome of true love. Jane found a home where she can be the center of attention, just as she likes it. Friendly, playful, cuddly, and a true lap kitty, Jane will enjoy having someone home with her most of the time. As an only pet, she gets to soak up all the love. 2026 is truly Jane’s year to shine.

Sweet Martha found a loving home where companionship is plentiful. She will be the only pet in a household where her people work from home, giving her plenty of attention and comfort as she settles in. We wish Sweet Martha and her family all the best as they adjust to this happy change.

Beautiful Hope chose her family with confidence. Although they met other cats during their visit, they were drawn back to her. Hope will begin her life in her new home with a separate space while she adjusts, followed by slow introductions to the resident kitty. She happily went into her carrier, ready for her next adventure. We look forward to updates once she’s settled in.

Cute as a button and full of energy, Buttons found a home where she will be both a playful companion to a 14-month-old kitty and a beloved family member. She’ll start out with her own space before being introduced to her new feline friend. We wish her and her family lots of fun together.

Siblings Petrie and Carl were adopted together and couldn’t be happier about continuing life side by side. These active kittens will be the only pets in their home and are sure to provide endless entertainment when they aren’t curled up together for a nap.

Sweet Joey found her Valentine and her forever home. A true love bug, Joey enjoys both petting and playtime, and her family says she is perfect. She will be the only kitty in her home, complete with lots of toys and a cozy shelter bed made by our volunteers. Way to go, Joey.

Sweet sisters Annabeth and Piper were adopted together and are excited to continue growing up side by side. As the only pets in their home, they’ll be introduced to their new surroundings a little at a time so they’re not overwhelmed. We wish this happy family all the best.

Siblings Thalia and Percy found a home together where they will grow up alongside a cat-friendly dog and a young resident kitty. They’ll start out with their own space while they adjust, followed by slow introductions when everyone is ready. We hope to hear how these two are doing once they’ve settled in.

Sweet Liggett found her match with a family already familiar with Caring for Cats. Their kitten Rock, adopted in November, was ready for a playmate. After carefully considering temperament and interactions, they chose Liggett for her playful but gentle personality. With thoughtful introductions ahead, we look forward to updates as this new friendship blossoms.

Beautiful kitten Zoe found a loving home where patience and calm were key. Initially shy, Zoe quickly began accepting pets and scritches. Her family was looking for a calm kitty to grow up alongside their young child, and with adults working from home, Zoe will have plenty of companionship. She’ll start out in a bedroom until she’s ready to explore the rest of her home.

Sisters Reyna and Clarisse were adopted together into a lively home with two children. Clarisse immediately bonded with the little girl in the family and has been renamed Marshmallow, while Reyna singled out the little boy and will now go by Pumpkin. After settling in, the girls will be gradually introduced to the family dog. We’re sure they’re in for a wonderful life.

After nine months of carefully interviewing potential families, Lucy has chosen her perfect match. This confident girl knew exactly what she wanted: a home where she could be the only pet and the center of attention. When Lucy met her person, the connection was immediate. Once the paperwork was complete, this little princess strutted right into her carrier, ready to begin her next chapter. Lucy will always hold a special place in the hearts of our volunteers who cherished her personality and antics during her time with us.

Darling siblings Wright and Judson will continue to play and nap together in their new home. With a couple of kiddos to keep them on their toes and a cat-friendly dog to meet once they’ve settled in, these two are sure to thrive.

Bonded pair Bradley and Bonnie found the perfect home where they can remain together as the only pets. Bonnie’s playful charm and Bradley’s laid-back friendliness sealed the deal. We’re thrilled they get to enjoy life side by side in their loving home.

Sweet kitten Carnes found a home where she will be the only pet but never lonely. With family members working from home and two kids ready to play, Carnes will have plenty of attention and love as she grows.

Congratulations to all of our January adopters and their new feline family members!

Each adoption is the result of many caring hands and thoughtful choices. Behind every happy goodbye are volunteers who provided daily care, foster families who opened their homes, donors and sponsors who made medical care possible, and adopters who chose to welcome a cat into their lives.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who played a role in making these January adoptions possible. To the families who opened their hearts and homes, thank you for choosing adoption. To the cats who trusted us along the way, we wish you a lifetime of comfort, love, and joy.

Sponsor a Cat Like Tabitha

Tabitha was 2-years-old and looking for the purrfect home after the dominant male kitty in her previous home was picking on her. She was very shy since it was very scary getting picked on and it took her some time to adjust to life in the shelter. Caring for cats donors helped give her the time needed to find a loving patient family.  View our sponsorship page and sponsor a cat like Tabitha

Sponsor a Cat Like Jack Frost

Jack Frost was a 1-year-old stray kitty still adjusting to the shelter and he needed a quiet, patient home to give him love.

Our volunteers worked with him to show him how much he is loved.
