It’s always special when friendships formed at the shelter continue in a forever home. Underwood and Spike didn’t know each other before sharing a room at Caring for Cats, but they quickly bonded over playtime and companionship. Now these two buddies will grow up together as the center of attention in their new home. They may have to share toys and laps, but we have a feeling they’ll handle that just fine.

We are delighted to report that the last kittens in this litter were adopted. Brothers Cosgrove and Dan Patch were happy to head home together to their loving family. They will have two kids to keep them busy, and after settling into their new surroundings they will slowly be introduced to the young kitty already living in the home.

Originally, the family planned to adopt just one kitten. But as the kids played with the boys using wand toys and shared stories about the toys waiting for them at home, dad decided both kittens should join the family. One of the sweetest moments came when the kids grabbed blankets from the room, laid them across their laps, and we all watched as the kittens happily climbed up and settled in. It was one of those moments where everything just felt right.

These kids also participated in our Cat Tales – Kids Reading to Cats program in January and met the kittens during that visit. We hope they will continue building their reading skills at home with their new furry friends. Cosgrove and Dan Patch will now be known as Jax and Greyson, and we hope their family will share updates as the boys grow. Congratulations to all!

Handsome Charlie found his Valentine this month. When meeting his new family, Charlie turned on the charm with his sweet little mewing sounds, dramatic flops for belly rubs, and plenty of affectionate pets from head to tail. His new family was instantly smitten. Once he settles in, Charlie will be introduced to the resident female cat who, amusingly, looks quite a bit like him.

Sweet Rex finally found his family after waiting more than seven months. His adopters are experienced guardians of FIV+ and harder-to-place cats and came specifically to meet him. Rex quickly showed his affectionate side, welcoming pets and curling up for extra attention. Once he adjusts to his new home, he’ll be introduced to Elliot, their resident FIV+ cat who is eager for a cuddle companion.

Beautiful sisters Lucy and Gracie were adopted together and will continue their lives side by side. Their playful personalities and social energy quickly won over their new family. Lucy even rolled over to show off her adorable belly during the visit. The girls will be the only pets in their home, where they’ll enjoy plenty of attention and love.

Flower wasted no time claiming her Valentine. She quickly bonded with her new family and even showed off her impressive red dot chasing skills. Flower will start out with her own quiet space while adjusting to her new home before being introduced to the young resident cat. She hopped into her carrier with ease, ready to begin her new life.

February brought a true Valentine miracle. Sunny had waited more than a year for her forever home, and Savannah had been waiting beside her for nine months. The two formed a strong bond after meeting at the shelter, and we knew they needed to stay together. Their new family spent time visiting them several times before adoption to ensure the match was perfect. These sweet girls will start with their own space before gradually meeting the senior cat in their home. Their departure brought tears of joy from the volunteers who cared for them.

Bonded girls Evee and Bynx also found their forever home together. Their new adopter immediately fell in love with them and proudly declared that his home was built for cats. With no other pets in the household, the girls will enjoy being the queens of their new domain.

Our black beauty Frida found her loving home and has already settled in comfortably. Her new family has given her a new name — Stevie — and reports that she is doing wonderfully. She will be the only pet in the home, which suits her perfectly.

Henry and Macy may not be related, but they formed a friendship at the shelter that led them to be adopted together. Henry is a sweet cuddle bug, while polydactyl Macy adds a little extra spice to the pair. Once they are settled, they will be introduced to Beaufort, the family’s laid-back and cat-friendly dog.

Kitten Penny sold herself during her visit by showing off her loud purr, affectionate personality, and playful energy. She made the rounds from lap to lap before pausing for a quick play session, proving she’s the full package. Once she’s settled in, Penny will be introduced to the resident young male cat.

Kitten brothers Doja and Pookie will continue growing up together in their forever home. They now have two young girls ready to play and cuddle with them every day. With no other pets in the house, these boys will enjoy being the center of attention.
