Sponsor a Cat Like Tabitha

Tabitha was 2-years-old and looking for the purrfect home after the dominant male kitty in her previous home was picking on her. She was very shy since it was very scary getting picked on and she is adjusting to life in the shelter. Caring for cats found her a loving family who will give her patience and time.  View our sponsorship page and sponsor a cat like Tabitha

Sponsor a Cat Like Jack Frost

Jack Frost was a 1-year-old stray kitty still adjusting to the shelter and he needed a quiet, patient home to give him love. Our volunteers worked with him to show him how much he is loved.

Sponsor a Cat Like Georgie

Georgie came to Caring for Cats as s a 3-year-old shy stray. He was a mellow boy who enjoyed affection and snuggling with other kitties. He loved snuggling with his girlfriend, Eliza, so he would make a good companion for another kitty. He would do best in a quiet home with a patient family to love him.  Sponsor Georgie  by joining our Sponsorship Program

Serena was a beloved 17 year-old elderly lady who had kidney failure, which involved the administration of fluids under the skin several times per week.

Despite heroic efforts to find a foster home or adopter willing and able to give fluids (a 2-person job) to a kitty nearing the end of life, when it was clear that that home wasn’t available, volunteers gave her the love, treatment, and care she needed to live out her days in peace and comfort.

Serena’s Room is a Safe, Quiet Space

“Serena’s Room” is a smaller space than the large multi-cat rooms, because it was originally designed as an adoption room.

After Serena’s passing, other special needs kitties like Hunny and Peanut & Morticia have lived in this low-key, quieter room.

A Special Room for Special Cats

The good news is that since those three have now found their permanent homes, it was decided to convert the room to a permanent kitty space.

A door with open grating replaced the solid one, a sign was made to dedicate the room to Serena, and a loving memorial shadow box hangs inside to pay tribute to her.
