September Adoption Announcements

Oct 20, 2026 | News & Updates, Success Stories

Celebrating Happily Ever After!

Every adoption story is a little different, and that’s part of what makes finding the right match so special! In September, cats who had been waiting patiently, playful kittens looking for a buddy, and affectionate companions ready to find their person all took exciting steps toward their happily ever after. Some made an instant connection, others won their families over with a well-timed lap snuggle, and a few even found their new families within our own volunteer community. We’re celebrating every one of these happy endings and sending our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people who opened their homes to a Caring for Cats alum. Here are September’s adoption updates!

Casey’s Forever Family Finally Found Her!

After nearly five months of patiently waiting, sweet Casey found the family she deserved! Her adopters were looking for an easygoing cat who would thrive as their only feline. After meeting several shelter residents, they knew Casey’s wonderful personality was the perfect fit for their home and routine. We couldn’t be happier to see this deserving girl begin her next chapter. Congratulations to Casey and her new family!

Jaden and Dante Find Their Forever Home Together!

Two of our beloved Minnesota Timberwolves-themed kittens, Jaden and Dante, scored the ultimate forever home together! Even better, their new mom is one of our amazing shelter volunteers. She fell head over heels for the adorable pair, who are now off to a cozy home where they’ll be showered with love and attention. They’ll soon answer to their new names, Merle and Dolly! We love seeing our cats find forever families within our volunteer community. Congratulations to Merle, Dolly, and their wonderful new mom!

Ant Steals the Show!

Another star from our Minnesota Timberwolves-themed kitten litter, Ant, found her forever family! Her adopters were looking for a kitten to join their home alongside a laid-back, cat-friendly dog and a young feline friend. Ant promptly stole the spotlight by curling up in a lap, soaking up pets, and inspiring a serious case of “cat paralysis.” Her cozy charm made the match clear, and she was ready to head home. Congratulations to Ant and her new family!

Apple and Julius Are Now Stella and Mario!

Sweet kitten duo Apple and Julius found their forever home together! Their new family originally visited after falling in love with Apple’s online description. Knowing how much fun a pair of kittens can have growing up together, they hoped to find the right companion for her. After plenty of playing and snuggling, both kittens won over the entire family. Stella and Mario will enjoy a home full of love, family adventures, and cozy nap spots alongside their new feline friend, Sam, a gentle 16-year-old cat. Congratulations to this wonderful family!

Naz Finds Her New Best Friend!

Another member of our Minnesota Timberwolves-themed kitten litter, Naz, found a family ready to welcome her playful, affectionate personality. Her new family especially hoped to find a companion for their six-month-old kitten, Nora. Naz made her choice clear by visiting with everyone, enjoying a long nap in Dad’s lap, and snuggling with Mom. She’ll also have two gentle young kids and a friendly senior dog to keep her company. We hope Naz and Nora become the very best of friends! Congratulations to Naz and her new family.

Frances Finds Her Lap and Her People!

Three-year-old Frances found her dream home with a multi-generational family looking for a friendly adult cat. After spending time getting to know several shelter residents, Frances won everyone over with her playful energy and charm. She sealed the deal by hopping right into a lap to claim her new family! Frances is now off to enjoy plenty of attention as a cherished member of her household. Congratulations to Frances and her wonderful new family!

Cherub Finds Her Forever Human!

Beautiful seven-year-old Cherub found her special someone! Her new dad was ready to welcome his very own cat after spending years around feline companions. Although he visited with several shelter residents, Cherub made an immediate connection. She happily soaked up pets and brushing, showing off her sweet, affectionate nature and making it clear that she had found her person. Cherub is now off to enjoy a cozy life as the cherished center of attention. Congratulations to Cherub and her new dad!

Molly Gets a Second Chance at Cat Companionship

Sweet two-year-old Molly was adopted by someone familiar with the joy of giving a shelter cat a home. Her new dad was looking for a companion for his senior cat, who had recently lost his longtime feline snuggle partner. Molly was initially a little shy, but she soon warmed up, rubbing against her visitor, reaching out with her paw, and giving sweet hand kisses. Her gentle charm won him over! Molly will have time to settle into her new home at her own pace before meeting her new feline brother. Congratulations to Molly and her family!

Edgar Joins a Returning Adopter’s Family!

Handsome Edgar found a fantastic forever home with a family who adopted from Caring for Cats earlier this year. They returned to the shelter hoping to add a second cat to their household, and Edgar made sure they knew he was the one. He jumped right into his new mom’s arms and was perfectly content being held. His affectionate, trusting nature sealed the deal, and he even strolled right into his carrier, ready for his next adventure. Edgar is now off to enjoy life with a loving family and a new feline sibling. Congratulations to Edgar and his wonderful family!

Genesis Finds Someone Who Loves Her Just as She Is

Our unforgettable five-year-old Genesis found a wonderful match with a returning adopter and foster mom. After recently losing a beloved cat adopted from our shelter, her new mom saw Genesis’s videos on Facebook and wondered if this special girl might be the companion her home was missing. Their meeting was pure magic. Genesis climbed into her visitor’s lap and rested her head on her chest, melting everyone’s hearts. She also showed off her wonderfully big personality, from spicy and opinionated to sweet and affectionate. Genesis walked right into her carrier when it was time to leave, ready for her new adventure. We’re so happy she’s found someone who understands and cherishes her just as she is!

Abbey Begins Her Next Chapter!

Sweet Abbey found a loving family looking for a gentle, easygoing companion who could eventually become a cuddle buddy for their active 14-year-old cat. After spending time getting to know several shelter residents and carefully considering the match, they knew Abbey was the right fit. She’ll have her own cozy space to decompress and settle in at her own pace before beginning slow, structured introductions to her new feline brother. We’re wishing Abbey and her family a wonderful start together!

Squash Gets Adopted with a Little Lap Magic!

A couple arrived at the shelter hoping to find a companion for their friendly, laid-back cat. They initially gravitated toward Zucchini, whose playful personality was hard to resist. But Squash had a different strategy! True to her snuggly nature, she settled onto one visitor’s lap and gazed into her eyes, then moved to the other visitor’s lap to purr, gaze, and snooze. Squash clearly knew how to make a lasting impression! She quietly stepped into her carrier and headed off to her new home. Congratulations to Squash and her family, and we hope Zucchini finds her own perfect match soon!

We can’t do this work without you!

Every adoption is a reminder that the right match is about so much more than finding a cat a home. It’s about finding the people who appreciate their unique personalities, understand their needs, and will love them for who they are. We’re so grateful to every adopter who opens their heart and home to a shelter cat, and to our volunteers and supporters who make these happy endings possible.

Know someone looking for a feline friend? Please share our adoption page with them on Facebook, Instagram, or Nextdoor. There are more wonderful personalities waiting to meet their people, and their happily ever after could be just around the corner!
